ANU delegations recent visit to Chinese universities deemed a resounding success.
In October, three delegations from the Australian National University (ANU) visited China for meetings with a number of well established Chinese education institutes. Accompanied by members of CEI’s top management, the delegations visited the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), the Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU), Liaoning University (LNU) and other respective Chinese institutions with a view of enhancing previously launched programmes and also explore more areas for collaboration.
Cooperation agreements between the ANU, BIT and CEI can be traced back to 2006, when the 2+2 Credit Transfer Engineering Major Bachelor Degree Programmes started. Since that time many collaboration projects have been set up by CEI and this includes a double PHD programme.
Over the past decade more than 100 students from BIT have benefited from our transnational programs and they have been awarded double degrees from the Australian National University (ANU) and the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Among them are five students who have been recognized as outstanding graduates and they have also been accepted for the Master-PHD program at ANU directly.
Two years ago, the 2+2 Credit Transfer Program also saw similar success at National Polytechnic University (NPU).
Last month, two delegations from ANU visited the NPU, and during their cordial meetings both universities discussed the need to develop their collaborations to a new level. This new cooperation will include a number of programmes including: A Bachelor-Master program, a Bachelor Credit Transfer Program on Science Communication Major, a Summer Camp programme and setting up a program for exchange students between universities.
In 2014, The 2+2 Credit Transfer Program Computer Sciences Major also saw a great deal of success at Liaoning University (LNU). Currently, more than 10 students, benefit from this program and they continue to successfully study at ANU.
Prior to last months successful visits by the ANU delegations, Mr. Charles Sun, CEO of CEI regularly visited Liaoning University to promote further collaborations between the two universities.
The first delegation to LNU was led by Mr. Alistair Rendell, the Dean of the Research School of Computer Science, and the College of Engineering and Computer Science. At their meetings both universities reached a number of agreements for further cooperation.
Another delegation from ANU to visit Liaoning University was led by Mr. Andrew Roberts a well known geologist and also the Director of ANU’s College of Science, and the Academy of Science in New Zealand. During discussions both universities signed a cooperation agreement on 2+2 Credit Transfer Programmes focusing on Science Communication, and Environmental Science Major. They also discussed the possibility of setting up a PHD program.
The ANU delegation led by Mr. Roberts, was accompanied by top management from CEI, and together they also visited the Beijing Jiaotong University, the Chinese University of Petroleum, and the China University of Geosciences. At these universities a number of cooperation agreements were signed for Bachelor, Master and PHD programs.
