This month the CEI Spotlight falls on the City College of Huizhou in Guangdong Province.
The City College of Huizhou is a state-run full-time general vocational college which was established in April, 2014. The College was approved by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and registered by the Ministry of Education in China under the supervision of the Guangdong Province Department of Education.
The City College of Huizhou comprises of eleven departments, which includes the following subjects: Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Arts and Design, the Department of Tourism, Culinary Arts, Information Technology, Arts and Sciences, Applied Languages, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Fashion and Textiles.
In 2014, the college started its initial enrollment process with over a thousand students for five programs. The College strives to encourage the advancement of young talents for skills and technology, serving the modern service industries and cutting-edge manufacturing industries in the Pearl River Delta regions of China.
The five majors provided for student enrollment in 2014 included the following subjects: Finance, Logistics, IT, Animation and Fashion among Pearl River Delta Regions. In 2015, the college provided seven more majors bringing its total to twelve, though there are plans to provide many more subjects including Hotel Management, International Business and the Culinary Arts.
CEI is a leader in the transnational education industry in China and is one of the earliest service providers in the country. In 2015 the company arranged an international agreement between the China Australian International College and the City College of Huizhou.
The Asia-Australia International College at the City College recently held a Commencement Event 2016, and this year the college recruited two hundred and twenty one students. The event was attended by many education officials including Ms YAN Linan, vice president of the City College of Huizhou.
The Asia-Australia International College at Huizhou is the first successful education project under the ‘One Road, One Belt initiative. Next July the college will see its first transnational students studying at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia.
