At the end of last month, the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) sent a delegation to Canada to visit a number of universities, and they also attended the 24th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

Whilst in Canada, the delegation accepted an invitation to visit McGill University where they were welcomed by a large number of the faculty including the universities vice president Anne McKinney, the director of International Affairs Office Hussain Mohammadi, vice director Kally Walsh, dean of the Institute of Technology Professor Jim Nicell, sub-dean Benoit Boulet, director of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering Stephen Yue, and the chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Luc Mongeau who warmly welcomed them.

The two sides introduced the general outline of their two schools and also discussed the exchange of students and scholars, as well as having an in depth conversation about enhancing the communication between the two institutes. They also reached a number of agreements including programs for their undergraduates’ summer holiday internships, graduation projects, student exchanges, and they agreed to put more effort into further cooperation.
